HUDs NEW RULES AND CDBG GRANTS - COMBINATION TO TERMINATION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS

Posted by Joanne C Daley on August 11, 2014 at 4:30pm 0 Comments

The Sierra Vista City Council will be deciding whether to apply for CDBG grants now that Sierra Vista is a new "entitlement" city, at a special meeting Tuesday, August 12th at 3pm. HUD's new rules intend to erase all zoning codes in every community that takes CDBG funds. Cities that do not comply will jeopardize their funding but not right now.  HUD will wait until there are years worth of projects in various stages of completion and then will pull the…

Cochise College Property Taxes are being raised more than they are supposed to

Posted by mike compton on June 6, 2014 at 5:32pm 0 Comments

Please check your property tax statements for 2011, 2012, and 2013.

In 2011 my Cochise College property taxes were $380.29.  Per Cochise College's Truth in Taxation Statement these taxes were supposed to be raised by 2%.  My 2012 Cochise College property taxes were $394.23 an increase of 3.65%.  If my Cochise College property taxes were raised by 2% (2011 amount x 1.02) they would have been $387.90.  My taxes were increased…

THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IS ALWAYS THE PRIMARY.

IT IS WHERE THE INCUMBENTS ARE EITHER SENT HOME OR RE-ELECTED  TO CONTINUE TO REPRESENT US.

IN THE CASE OF CITY ELECTIONS THE PRIMARY MAY BE

THE ONLY ELECTION. IT MAY BE YOUR ONLY OPPORTUNITY TO VOICE YOUR PREFERENCE.  IF YOU WANT YOUR VOTE TO COUNT,

VOTE IN THE PRIMARY
