Especially good idea (not mine) because we're perceived in some circles as "heartless conservatives".  Anyway see you at one of the meetings!

Great, let's do that.

One of the other tea party members suggested handing out bags of canned goods at the unemployment office .... haven't pursued, but if you're at the planning meeting or the saturday meeting, we can follow up.

Any ideas for the Glenn Beck's "flashmob" project, beginning April 21, 2011?

Today's Glenn Beck was awesome.  He offered us some sanity in all the confusion from the news.  Both my husband and I are going to sign off on the "Challenge."  I may just print it out and put it up in a place where we can read it each day.

When the whole crowd sang Amazing Grace, both my retired military crusty old spouse and our 10-year-a-marine son joined our daughter and I with tears rolling down our cheeks.  We looked like the bloody fountains of Sierra Vista, and cheered like fools afterward.  It was GREAT!

I took some notes from yesterdays show, on T.V.  Glenn is talking about being enlightened and I want to make sure it is sinking in to my thick brain.  So I thought if I share some of it with all of you it will help me get a good grasp of it.

First, Glenn is so right that there is no where to go to get the truth.  When watching or reading the news, Glenn points out that at one moment we will hear the economy is getting better and then at another hear about the food and gas prices starting to soar.  So which is it?  If gas is going to go to 5 or 7 dollars a gallon, my kids will have a hard time getting to and from work.  My oldest son who is in school said to me that at $5 a gallon it will cost him close to $300 a month for gas.  My other two kids do not have economical cars so their gas could really climb.  Well at least they have jobs, right?

I liked the fact that Glenn brought up that no one is talking about the high prices of gas during President Obama's term in office.  It seems that whenever the dems are in power there are no complaints but when the Pubs are in power the dems cant stop complaining.

In fact, I heard the dems complaining yesterday, already, geez, that the republicans do not understand economy and do not have a plan.  They were actually saying that America can't afford to spend any more money because we are already broke.  Now why didn't we hear that a year ago when they had the house.  They are going to make our high prices the republicans fault one way or the other.

The media will report the same and it seems that the only way to know the truth is to read everything possible and trust nothing.  Gosh I hope that isn't the definition of enlightenment.

The dead birds and fish, I think are funny.  I even heard that the fireworks on New Years Eve was too much for the birds and they went into shock and died.  Why is it always the human's fault? Maybe it is global warming, ha, ha!

Then Glenn asked what do you believe?  Gosh, I don't think I believe the media.  Even with FOX, one has to discern one story from the other.  I was reading over the weekend that a Saudi has an awful lot of control over FOX and their agenda.  So do I believe that the Muslims are in control of what the only news station that isn't liberal puts out or believe that FOX is fair and balanced, telling us the truth?

Do I trust the new tea party Republicans to do what is right and make the hard decisions or to believe that politicians are only looking to get re elected and making decisions based on what group is crying the loudest.

Michele Bauchmann said on another show last night that she doesn't know if she will run for President in 2012, as so many have reported and that those rumors are because she is going to Iowa for some Constitutional seminar.  (I think, that is what it was) So the media thinks she's gearing up and she says nope not gearing up just going to Iowa.

So what do I believe?  I guess it is the 40 day. 40 night challenge to get down on ones knees (even though it kills me) and pray, pray, pray.  Then do what is right and be true to my integrity .

I was just thinking, didn't Jesus preach about a new way to God, self realization, and doing what is right by others.  And didn't the Pharisees, who were in power, who knew he was right but didn't want to give up their power, try to discredit Him and then finally crucify Him?  Then comes little Glenn Beck, and the big powerful government?  Eeks!

Nancy, wasn't it awesome!  We were on the Vietnam Memorial side, at the second big monitor.  Never did see the stage but had great seats for everything else.  There were so many great parts but the two that still gets to me is the fly over by the birds and 500,000 people singing amazing grace.  What a day that was!

We were also at the 8-28 event - other side of reflecting pool, fairly close up since a couple of the kids went up to the Mall at midnight and staked out our spot.  What an AMAZING day.
